LMD Trade Law PLLC is committed to giving back to our communities by leveraging our expertise in international trade law.
We have a unique offering to our clients which is real, practical, and operational experience in sanctioned or restricted countries or territories including North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Iran, Ukraine, Russia, China, etc.
Many trade lawyers give theoretical or textbook answers.
Our lawyers have actually worked on the ground in these places and know how the real world works – and the real challenges that businesses and NGO’s face in such locations.
As a way of giving back to our communities, we assist non-profit and humanitarian organizations (“NGO”) who operate in highly restricted areas to meet basic humanitarian needs including food, water, medicine, and medical devices. We provide such clients a deep discount and in certain cases pro bono services to assist such clients to provide humanitarian assistance while complying with sanctions, export controls, customs and banking laws and regulations. Some examples include:
CAM which provides humanitarian aid and disaster relief in locations such as Yemen, Ukraine/Russia, Syria, Sudan, Israel/Gaza, etc.
Doorae Community Movement which provides bread and soy milk to nursery and kindergarten students in U.S. sanctioned countries.
We also serve as the pro bono legal advisor to the U.S. National Committee on North Korea (NCNK), a U.S. 501(c)(3) organization comprised of U.S. experts on North Korea.
We strongly believe that trade lawyers with our expertise and experience can also be an integral part of making the world a better place and to help relieve suffering around the globe.
